Thesis Title: Consumption and luxury in the writings and household of Carl Linnaeus (preliminary)

I am working on a thesis studying the idea of luxury in the writings of the Swedish 18th century scientist Carl Linnaeus. The thesis will also contain a study of the consumption pattern in the household of Linnaeus, in terms of how they mark the social status. Linnaeus position in the swedish debate on luxury and consumption will also be analysed.
